As you have read by the title, September is Suicide Awareness month, and as hard as it can be to talk about this subject. I find it really important to do so, in the hopes of shining some light on one of the most silent and saddest killers. So, for the month of September, I dedicate my blog to raising awareness about suicide, sharing stories, and providing facts, and ways that you can help those who suffer from the leading cause of suicide, depression.
I, like many others, have been touched by suicide in some way, shape, or form. I have attempted suicide, I have had friends whom I love, die from suicide, and I have felt the immense pain that consumes my mind and heart when I see it spread across the news.
Suicide is not a joke. Suicide is something that should be taken very seriously. And having suicidal thoughts is nothing to be ashamed of, everyone on this planet thinks about dying at least once or twice in their life. Don’t be afraid to reach out for help, even when it feels like it’s the hardest thing you could possibly do, remembering that it’s not is important.
